Beijing to London. A growing family buisiness with respect for its roots.
Scope: Brand Strategy, Brand Identity, Packaging, Brand World, Rebrand.

Founded by Ning ma, Mamalan’s original pop up casual-dining restaurant in Clapham gained instant acclaim and quickly expanded to 5 permanent eateries across London. Cooking up homegrown recipes from the restaurants name sake, Mama Lan, the family-run street food brand needed a refreshed positioning and new look to unify the chain.
An east meets west typographic fusion creates the brand’s logo mark, modernising the brand whilst respecting the origins of its founders and their food. The styling offers a modern spin on traditional Chinese aesthetics – elongated scrolls are bound with chopsticks and in-house tea blends are packaged in traditional caddies.
